SUP-Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Hoe he'e nalu in the Hawaiian language. SUP was founded by Hawaiians for transportation on coastal zones, or between the islands. Historically, Africans and indeed many other river based and coastal cultures, have stood up within their canoes and upon rafts and paddled standing for thousands of years. Conceptually therefore, the idea of standing and paddling using an extended canoe paddle is far from being a new concept.
Between 1960 and 2015 Standup paddleboarding began, to become one of the most growing Adventure sports in the world. If you practice wind surfing or wave surfing, you need wind and waves but with SUP you able to move by the paddles. SUP boards are the update version of the surfboards and there are many models for different purposes. There are mainly two different type SUP Board, Inflatable and Composite boards. Inflatable ones gives you a great flexibility for travelling, also they are very robust against damage. Most of the inflatable boards weigh between 10 and 15 kg, you can deflate them and travelling becomes easy. Hardboards (made from glass-reinforced plastic or wood for instance) are provideing many different models as well, but we decide to have inflatable boards specially made for Yoga. Here are various modes of stand up paddling, including flatwater paddling for outdoor recreation, fitness, or sightseeing, racing on lakes, large rivers and canals, surfing on ocean waves, paddling in river rapids (whitewater SUP), SUP Yoga.
